Structuring CSR

The Management Board is responsible for adopting the CSR strategy, which is prepared by the holding company’s strategy department. The CSR policy is being introduced in phases and will continue to be refined over the coming years. Targets are set each year, with the aim being to incorporate CSR into all business decisions on (re)development investment in and management of the shopping centres.

In 2008 in each business unit CSR committees were set up, consisting of employees with local expertise in centre management, facility management, technical management and HRM. Various head-office disciplines, including legal, HRM and risk management, are involved in integrating the CSR strategy into our activities, while the Dutch business units provide technical support. The CSR officer in the head-office Strategy department organises exchanges of information between individual business units and with the head office, while also promoting and introducing best practices and setting up and maintaining a centralised database. At a local level, business units can, if necessary, tailor CSR policy to their own experience and local legislative requirements.
