Tax position

Corio constantly monitors significant risks concerning the company’s tax position. Under local legislation in the Netherlands and France, Corio has gained the status of tax-exempt investment institution. Project development activities for its own portfolio are carried on by CVO, a subsidiary that is liable for corporation tax, in accordance with the new regime for tax-exempt investment institutions that came into effect in the Netherlands on 31 July 2007. The retention of tax-exempt status receives ongoing attention from the Management Board. For the Netherlands, a support system has been developed for monitoring financing limits, dividend obligations and ratios of relevance to Corio’s status as a tax-exempt investment institution.

Corio submits tax returns in the various countries in which it operates. The returns for the investment fund Corio N.V. in the Netherlands have been completed up to the return for 2007.
