Short-term bonus scheme

Performance criteria and targets relating to short-term bonuses are formulated and set at the start of each year (performance-related contract). The short-term bonus receivable in the event of normal to good performance (the ‘at-target’ level) amounts to 40% of the individual’s annual salary. The maximum short-term bonus payable in the event of excellent performance is 60% of annual salary. Two-thirds of the short-term bonus is dependent on growth in the company’s operating result, and one third on measurable individual targets. For the purpose of short-term bonus calculations, the company’s operating result is split into direct results and additions to the pipeline. With respect to individual measurable targets, qualitative performance criteria are set each year. Precise details of the targets relating to short-term bonuses are not published owing to competition issues.

The short-term bonus for 2007 was calculated in 2008 in accordance with the policy applying to each individual during 2007 and on the basis of the achievement of the agreed targets.
