Shares
The downturn on the financial markets has affected Corio’s share price. However, Corio shares outperformed relevant indices during 2008, just as they did over the past three years and the past five years.
At the end of 2008, there were 66,253,702 Corio shares in circulation that qualified for dividend. All these shares are freely marketable, giving Corio a free float of 100%. Based on the closing price of € 32.89 on 31 December 2008, the market capitalisation on that date was € 2.2 billion. Corio N.V.’s shares are listed on NYSE Euronext in Amsterdam and Paris. Corio joined the AEX index on 4 March 2008, in which it has a weighting of 0.77%. Corio shares are included in indices such as the EPRA index, the GPR index and the Euronext 100 index. The closing price at year-end 2008 was € 32.89 (year-end 2007 € 55.40), while the average price in 2008 was € 50.63 (2007: € 61.08). The lowest closing price in 2008 was set on 29 December 2008 and was € 30.71. Average daily share turnover (438,421) was up sharply in 2008 compared with the previous year (2007: 350,634; 2006:175,046). Although several factors contributed to the increase in share turnover, the share’s inclusion in the AEX index played a considerable part.
